The seafront promenade leads you to Stockholm’s town hall, boasting its 106 meters and shining three crowns. On the inside of its brick walls is the well-known “Blue Hall”, which receives a visit annually in connection with the Nobel Banquet.
During the summer, Kungsholmen attracts its outdoor activities. In Rålambshov Park, residents of Stockholm meet and enjy picnics and playing boules. Here you can also rent kayaks and paddle out on Mälaren and have a great glimpse of Stockholm’s inner city. Nearby is the cozy and slightly calmer area of Fredhäll which offers bathing cliffs and vegetation. In recent years, many young people have moved here thanks to their good transport communications to City and Södermalm, as well as the somewhat lower housing prices compared to the prices in the inner city.
At Kungsholmen there are also plenty of shops, restaurants and bars. At the intersection between two of Kungsholmen’s most visited streets, Flemminggatan and Sankt Eriksgatan, lies Västermalmsgallerian. Here, Kungsholmen’s city pulse is experienced with a lot of people in circulation.
Kungsholmen’s central and beautiful location means that many people are looking here to find accommodation. Like the rest of Stockholm’s inner city, this has resulted in rising housing prices at Kungsholmen. To improve the chances of finding a rental apartment at Kungsholmen you can search for accommodation in the areas of Kristineberg and Stadshagen, which are slightly further away from the city center. The demand for housing is somewhat lower there, which means that you can get a lease agreement faster.
